Please click on this link to view the official Street Store video. If you'd like to help us raise money to purchase new clothing to give to those in Knoxville who have so little, please visit our GoFundMe site: http://www.gofundme.com/sf3bau4
What else do we need? DONATIONS!
We'd like to ask you again to please, please, please donate your old clothes and shoes to this cause! Remember that we can't accept undergarments (panties and bras) or socks, UNLESS they are newly purchased! We don't discriminate against sizes and would love to get a wide variety of clothing! We're also accepting travel size toiletries, especially deodorant and hand sanitizer, to put in care packages for our customers.
Want to get involved? VOLUNTEER!

4-30-15 Gryphon Mission Briefing

GRYPHON MISSION BRIEFING
For Thursday, April 30, 2015
“L” Day Classes

School Ops:
·      Good luck to Gryphon Track and Field and Gryphon Tennis teams – who are competing in the subsectional and district tournaments for their sports today and tomorrow.  Go get ‘em Gryphons!

·      STUDENTS: If you are an individual of color who is on a strong academic standing, then you are in on an opportunity of a lifetime. The Knoxville Area Urban League (KAUL) is a community-based organization that is dedicated to the advancement of minorities. Every year the KAUL recruits students from all Knox County Schools to be inducted into it's National Achievers Society Program (NAS). NAS was established to identify and motivate academically achieving minority high school students and increase the pool of students who are prepared, motivated, and qualified for higher education. NAS is open to African-American youth and other youth of color in grades 10-12 with a 3.0 or higher cumulative grade point average. NAS scholars participate throughout the school year in weekend activities, projects, and initiatives that enhance their cultural, academic, and college preparatory experience in a three-year experience from their sophomore through senior year.  TODAY at 12:25 p.m., there will be an interest meeting for anyone who may be interested in applying for the program in Room D113. (Please be mindful of the eligibility requirements mentioned above.) There you will be informed more about the KAUL and NAS, as well as hear from other STEM students about their experiences with the program. At the end of the meeting you will have an application that you must fill out in order to qualify for membership.   I hope all of you qualified individuals will take up this opportunity to learn about a special program that will aid you in the future. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at: S039856@student.knoxschools.org.
(P.S. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO INFORM YOUR GENIUS HOUR INSTRUCTOR ABOUT WHERE YOU WILL BE.)
