Enrichment Day
Special note to students – let’s keep focused. The weather is turning pretty, spring break
is around the corner, and now the clock reminds us it is daylight savings time –
but we’re still in school and here to learn.
Let’s keep our outfits, our language, our volume, and our behavior
appropriate for school!

Students – heads up! We are about to enter the Academic Push for
the last 9 weeks of this year. That
means the last Enrichment Day will be next Friday, March 22. Until the end of the year, everyone will be
in Advisory every day for some special programming from the school and
mandatory study time.
·
Lost – a silver heart-shaped charm from a
bracelet. If found please turn in at the
office.
·
ALL current SGA
members: If you are interested in running for any SGA office, you must
attend a mandatory candidacy meeting TODAY during 1st and
2nd lunch in room 214. The meeting will discuss roles of each position, how to
run for office, and important dates to prepare for. You must be a current SGA
member with at least a 3.0 weighted GPA to run for any office. Open positions include:
SGA Officers- President,
Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer
Senior Class Officers-
President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer
Junior Class
Officers- President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer
Sophomore Class
Officers- President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer
If you wish to run for
any office but are unable to attend the meeting, please email your reason to
Mrs. Brogan (brie.brogan@knoxschools.org) by Thursday for further instruction.

Juniors: Tuesday, March 19 is the
in-school administration of the ACT
exam. The exam must start by 9:00 a.m.
so we will start instructions at 8:45. YOU are responsible for arranging
transportation to be here by 8:45 on the 19th to take the test. NO EXCEPTIONS!

In preparation for the in-school ACT exam, some of you have received invitations, and this is a
special offer to ALL interested juniors to attend ACT focused test-prep
sessions to be held this week during 2nd
Advisory in room 205 each day: Tuesday focus is Reading/English, Wednesday is Math, Thursday is Science Reasoning.
Check in with your Advisory teacher if you do not have Enrichment before
participating. Attendance will be taken
and reported back to Advisory teachers.

Due to the ACT test next Tuesday, the Learning Lab makeup
session normally in the STEM space will be in room 203 on Tuesday, March 19
only.

juniors): looking for a cool outdoor experience where you can also earn college

The Chess Club is having a fundraiser
selling flower bulbs. We are raising money to buy more chess boards, timers,
and pay competition entry fees in the Fall. This event runs through April 15,

Big Orange STEM Symposium: High school juniors
are invited to the University of Tennessee's Big Orange STEM Symposium on
Saturday, April 6th from 10:00am-3:00pm at Hodges Library. This program
will introduce local high school students to careers and research exploration
in STEM disciplines through active engagement, networking, and hands-on
presentations from experts in the field and community. Registration opens

Special announcement for AP
students:It is type to sign up
for and pay for any AP Exams you want to take in May. The cost of each
exam is $89 ($53 if student is on free/reduced lunch). Please make checks
out to the L&N STEM Academy with the name of the AP
exam(s) you are paying for in the memo line. Students signing up to
take these exams must also complete a registration form which can be found on
the Guidance page of STEM's website.
Payments and registration forms will be accepted
by Mrs. Salerno in the guidance lobby after school today until 4:45!
No
payments or registrations forms will be accepted nor refunds issued after
Friday, March 15th!
