·      Entries for PTA Reflections are due by today, Tuesday, November 1. Please make sure your name is in the file titles and the files are in the appropriate format: TN, Arts Category, HS, Last Name, First Name. (Please read the instructions!) Submit your entry and entry form to the correct folder in Google Drive: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B5F3w_X0E-xuMjg1dG1Yc0dSNWs?usp=sharing  If you would like to deliver a physical entry and entry form, drop them off by the art room Tuesday. ·      Congratulations to the L&N STEMpunks, our school's robotics team! They placed 4th overall out of 21 at a competition this past Saturday in Kentucky. Go STEMpunks!

·      Congrats to our Cross Country teams!  The boys placed 4th in the Regional tournament this last week and several runners performed to qualify for the State Cross Country Championships to be held in Brentwood, TN next Saturday, Nov 5.  Go Gryphons!

·      Teens for Christ meets Monday mornings at 8:45 in room D113.  Come join us!

·      You can support our PTSA by ordering gear from them this month only!  See samples in the Media Center, or pass on this link to anyone shopping for you so they can shop online until Nov 28!

·      Students – interested in track this spring?  Take a minute and fill out this quick survey indicating your interest.  Thank you.

·      Plan to attend the annual Senior v. Faculty flag football game, which is scheduled for Monday, November 21, from 3:30–4:30 p.m. on the lawn at World’s Fair Park! If you are a senior interested in participating, please complete the following form: https://goo.gl/forms/jj60ZT6KjQkrynxe2. Please contact s745298@student.knoxschools.org with questions or for more information regarding the flag football game. 

·      Want to go into a STEM profession? Want to travel the world?  Does going to places like Spain and Germany sound appealing to you? The Gryphon Global Studies Program is proud to offer not one, but two different trips to feed your wanderlust! For the first time in the Summer of 2018 we are participating in EF Tour’s Student Leadership Conference. The topic that year is “The Future of Technology” and includes a 12 day tour of Barcelona, Madrid, and Berlin.  For those wanting a more relaxed experience, during the Fall of 2018 we are also offering a 9 day tour of Germany and the Alps. For more information please attend our interest meeting on Tuesday, November 15 at 5:30pm in the Commons. We can’t wait to see you there! Yearbooks are $60 for a limited time only, so make sure to order yours as soon as possible before the price goes up. ·      Lincoln Memorial University Open House:  LMU in Harrogate, TN is having an Open House on November 12, particularly showcasing their fine arts programs.  Students and parents are welcome.  More information is at lmunet.edu or in the Guidance office.

·      Architecture Explorer Post:  If you are interested in design and architecture, consider joining the Explorer Post sponsored by the East TN chapter of the American Institute of Architects.  More information is in the Guidance office.

·      A note about Halloween– yes, you may wear a costume to school AS LONG AS it complies with dress code (no bare midriffs, spaghetti straps, sagging pants, “booty” or other shorts or skirts that are too short, etc.) and your face CANNOT be covered by a mask, etc.  Enjoy the last dress up day of 2016!

·      Have you told everyone you know about our Haunted Station tonight?  This is a big fundraiser for our PTSA – and they invest everything they make back into our school, so come on out and support them by bringing everyone you know!  6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
