School Ops:
·      Today from 1:00 – 3:00 students should report to the following areas to turn in their iPads so you can receive new technology this summer.  Final grade reports and class schedule for next year will be withheld from any student not turning in an iPad and charger and school-issued cover. 
o   9th graders will report to Commons
o   10th graders will report to room 214
o   11th graders will report to STEM Space

·      Make plans now to check your school email account at least once weekly over the summer.  We’ll be sending updates on summer assignments and when you can pick up your new laptops!

·      Did you miss last night’s meeting but think you need Summer School to recover a failing grade? Go to http://www.knoxschools.org/Page/12322 for more information.

·      Make plans to bring a chair and survive the Zombie Apolocalypse student theatre production on Thursday, May 19, 7:00 p.m. on the Plaza.  Admission is free to this approximately 1 hour production!

·      Congratulations to Rory Glatt for winning the boys’ individual tennis regional title.  Now he will head to state tournament next week in Murfreesboro!

Community  & Guidance Ops:
·      Knox Area Urban League is recruiting for next fall’s class of National Achievers.  If you are a student of color, will be in grades 10-12 next year, and have a 3.0 or higher GPA, you are invited to apply (attached).  Deadline for application is May 23.

·      Students and parents interested in attending an information session with Yale, Caltech, MIT, and Pomona need to pre-register here: http://bit.ly/1WpAPpQ The panel will be held at Farragut High School, TONIGHT, at 7:00 p.m. with a program to discuss academic and campus life, selective college admissions, and financial aid.

School Ops:
·      Any boys or girls interested in play on the golf team in the fall should email Mr. Waxmonsky.  The season begins in July and ends in October.

·      Make plans to bring a chair and survive the Zombie Apolocalypse student theatre production on Thursday, May 19, 7:00 p.m. on the Plaza.  Admission is free to this approximately 1 hour production!

·      Today is Yearbook Distribution.  Everyone will dismiss from your last test at 12:30 to the Commons/Plaza/verandah area.  You may eat lunch (cafeteria is open) or line up to receive yearbooks on the plaza under the stairs. 
o   If you have returned an early dismissal form you may leave once you have your yearbook, if you wish. 
o   Buses will run at 4:30.  You may not leave campus and return to ride a bus home. 
o   You may also turn in your iPad if you will not need it for testing on Wednesday (in the Media Center).
o   Students will stay in the Commons/plaza/verandah unless in the company of a teacher going to makeup work elsewhere in the building.
o   If you did not pre-order you may purchase one of the few extras that will be available, first come-first served, for $80 in cash or check made out to Josten’s.

School Ops:
·      Remember – today you will go to “L” day classes and take your final exams in L3 and L4 classes.  You will go to Advisory at midday (no Genius Hour) and have the lunch you normally have with Advisories on Friday.  Also remember – today is NOT Early Release – school is in session until 4:30!

·      Today is the last day to return permission slips that will allow you to leave as early as 12:30 this Tuesday and Wednesday.  You may choose to stay for yearbook signing on Tuesday and leave when you want but only if you turned in your slip.  Same is true for after turning in your technology on Wednesday.

·      Any student who is storing guitars or other non-band/orchestra equipment in the music room: You must be take your equipment home no later than this Friday (5/13).  As we are now starting our inventory process, all student-owned equipment (guitars, amps, cases, etc.) must leave the school by the end of this week.  Starting tomorrow, please do not bring any new instruments and store them in the music space.  Thank you for your attention to this matter.  Please email/see Mr. Gibson if you have any questions!
