School Ops:
·      Gryphons, you can still purchase a yearbook for $70 until February 22nd! Order yours ASAP at jostensyearbooks.com to save $10 on your 2018-19 memories (and make sure to follow @STEMYB on twitter)!

·      Next week SGA is sponsoring Winter WonderWeek to bring the semester to a fun conclusion!  Here are the themes for each day – start planning now to join the fun!

o   Monday, 12/10 – Holiday Hat Day (and Reindeer games at Early Release!)
o   Tuesday – Family Photo Day – don matching outfits for the goofy family holiday photo with your friends!
o   Wednesday – Holiday Character Day – come as your favorite holiday character.  Junior class is sponsoring a showing of “Elf” at 6:30 in the Commons for everyone
o   Thursday – Ugly Sweater Day
o   Friday – Flannel Day – notice there are no pajama days listed.  Let’s keep even the cozy fleece and other PJ’s at home, please!

·      Freshman and Sophomores, if you need help catching up on some school work, drop by the STEM space any Wednesday morning at 8:15 to meet with students in the National Honors Society who can help you out! We'll have students representing each subject, even classes like Latin and AP Human Geography!

·      Order your “ugly sweater” sweatshirt from the Junior Class (Class of 2020) for $20.  Order yours at lunch any day this week!


·      Congratulations to these L&N Art students whose work was selected to represent the L&N STEM Academy in the annual Knox County Council PTA Reflections contest: Photography: Delaney Martin, Cameron Ramsey, Chloe Weaver (Runners-up: Circe Whitson, Mason Wright); Visual Art: Rachel Barrick, Kirsten Carter Nathan Dale (Runners-up: Jennifer Butler, Hannah Guess, Sydney Juhl, Amiya Batts, Willa McDonough) and Dance Choreography: Kate Jolly. Art by these students and the runners-up may be submitted at the state level, and will be announced in January.

·      Don’t forget to bring your old blankets or towels for the animal shelter drive this week!

·      The annual AP/Honors Art Show will be opening this First Friday at Java Old City, 109 S. Central Street, on December 7. The show will be up through New Year's Day.

·      The L&N Key Club has partnered with Beaumont Magnet Academy to help provide some of their students with essential items such as coats, scarves, and gloves. Please sign up to help our neighbors. We would appreciate any donations to benefit Beaumont! If you have donations, please bring them to the library. The deadline to bring these items in is December 9th. The signup genius link is:

Community  & Guidance Ops:
·      A representative from Roane State Community College will be in Guidance on Monday, December 10 at 12:15pm.
