Gryphon Student Announcements for 12/9/13

GRYPHON ANNOUNCEMENTS
For Monday, December 9, 2013
 “L” Day

·  Candy Grams! Get your Candy Grams! It's the time of year for the sweetest L&N holiday tradition! Candy Grams are $1 and will be sold by SGA at lunches from Dec. 6th - 13th. They will then be delivered during advisory on Monday, Dec. 16th. Treat your friends or faculty this holiday season!

·    Its tomorrow night – don’t miss it!  Come to our Holiday Arts Showcase on Tuesday, Dec 10 from 7:00 – 8:30 at the Holiday Inn in the Grand Ballroom. Hear all three music groups perform and see the displays of our visual artists.  No cost to attend, you can park at the Holiday Inn for free (or at the school).

·    Start your Winter Holiday with a 2014 virtual basketball tournament in the Commons from 2:00 – 6:30 on Dec 19!  Monies raised will go towards this year’s prom. See information below.  If you are participating, you should plant to stay here at dismissal at 12:30 in the Commons (so do NOT turn in your early release permission slip for Thursday).

·    You’ll be receiving early release permission slips today in Advisory.  Please read them all the way through then take home, get them signed if you wish, and return them ASAP.  The cafeteria will be serving lunch on both Wednesday and Thursday.  If you leave, you should not plan on eating here and then leaving – we need all students with permission to leave at 12:30.

·    Tomorrow (Tuesday) you will participate in an online survey during Advisory about how you perceive the climate of our school.  Please take it seriously and be honest; that is the only way for us to improve.

·    Remember – NO more early release Wednesdays before Christmas.  Next one will be Feb 5, 2014.

Quote of the day from Nelson Mandela (in recognition of the passing of a single man who impacted the world):

Our greatest fear is not that we are without power.  Our greatest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
