to senior Justin Cross who was just
named as one of only two students from the entire state to the United States
Senate Youth Program! Justin will
receive a $5,000 scholarship for college and an all-expense paid week in
Washington, D.C. next March. Way to go
Justin!

Be sure to
watch the holiday gift commercial from our Bookstore by clicking here. You can pass the link on to parents or others
who might be shopping for you! They can
come in through the office during lunch hours any day of the week to shop
between now and December 17!

Beginning Monday,
Dec 7th, SGA will be hosting STEM’s first ever Winter Wonder-Week! Each day has
a different theme that all students are encouraged to participate in, but keep
in mind Knox County’s dress code and our STEM Habit of professionalism. Have
fun and happy holidays!!
o Holiday Color Monday
Dress in your favorite holiday
colors! (red and green, black red and green, blue and white/silver, etc)
o Tacky Sweater Tuesday
Dress in a tacky holiday sweater!
o Wacky Hat Wednesday
With your donation of one can for the
canned food drive or $1 for Karm, you can wear a festive holiday hat! (antlers,
elf hat, hat that represents your celebrated holiday, etc)
o Therapy Dog Thursday
Therapy dogs will be in the commons
that you can visit in the morning or during a free period during midterms. As a
way of giving thanks for their calm service, you can support Young Williams Animal
Center by bringing in donations such as dog or cat food and toys, newspaper,
peanut butter, etc. Sign-ups to spend time with the dogs will go out as
soon as we have their hours to be on campus.
o Fleece and Flannel Friday (polar
express day)
Come as you are on the polar express!
Dress in your coziest winter clothes (fleece/flannel pants, slippers, etc) and
enjoy some candy canes in the commons during lunch as you watch the polar
express screened on the visualization wall.
· Be sure to stop by the in-school credit
union to make a transaction or open an account before December 11th to win $100
or $50 as part of their holiday giveaway promotion. Don't forget the credit
union is open on Wednesday and Friday during all lunches!
· Mark
your calendars students – Monday classes will meet for the last time this
semester on Dec. 7. That means you only
meet today and once more before the end of this grading period! We will be doing mid-term exams on Mon., Dec.
14. (schedule is at bottom). Your
teachers will tell you how this affects your classes.
· Prom tickets for the Junior/Senior Prom
are now available for purchase during lunch. All tickets are $40 through
November and December. Get your tickets now while the price is low.

The
L&N STEMpunks FRC Team 3966 are collecting socks for Socks
for the Sox, a holiday outreach drive lead by the Evil Purple Sox
FTC Team 8498. We need your help gathering socks to donate to our local
Knoxville charity, and you can bring new and unused socks in the green
recycling bin in the front office. We'll be collecting socks until
December 4th, so please consider helping us give back to the community!
Community & Guidance Ops:

Nominate yourself for the GE Reagan
Foundation Scholarship worth 40K. You need to demonstrate the attributes
of leadership, drive, integrity, citizenship. You must also require
financial assistance and hold a 3.0 GPA to apply. Please
email me if you are planning to apply or have questions.
2.7GPA + are African
American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American, or a
Hispanic American who has significant financial need.
· Seniors who missed picking
up your TN Promise packets can pick them up from the guidance office.
