School Ops:
·      Special thanks to all the students who stayed last night to show off our school to current and prospective parents.  You represented yourselves and our school exceedingly well and we are proud of you!  Thanks!

·      The journalism class needs your help.  They are doing a news show for midterms and need as many people as possible to recreate Mr. Bell's profile photo on Twitter (look him up @johnlukebell) for one of the segments. So, recreate the photo and post it with the #gryphongrind2015 on Twitter or Instagram.

·      Don't miss the lowest prices of the year!  Prom tickets for the Junior/Senior Prom are now available for purchase during lunch.  All tickets are $40 until December 18th.  Get your tickets now.
Theme: A Red Carpet Romance      Location: Gettysvue Country Club

·      Make plans now to have a good meal out and support our TSA team by getting a flyer from any TSA member or the front office and take it with you to eat at Panera’s at Cedar Bluff Road this Thursday, Dec 10, from 4:00 – 8:00.  The team gets a portion of any meal you buy to help support their competition season this spring!

·      If you still need an exam dismissal form for next week there are extras in a folder on the bulletin board right next to the door to the Hogwart’s stairs in the Commons area.  Be sure to return ASAP!

·      You can still compete in the National History Day competition – our school level day will be January 11.  See Mrs. Robbins or Ms. Coley for more information.  Great high school resume item for college applications!

·      Be sure to watch the holiday gift commercial from our Bookstore by clicking here.  You can pass the link on to parents or others who might be shopping for you!  They can come in through the office during lunch hours any day of the week to shop between now and December 17!

·      SGA-sponsored Winter Wonder week continues!  Keep in mind Knox County’s dress code and our STEM Habit of professionalism. Have fun and happy holidays!!
o   Wacky Hat Wednesday
With your donation of one can for the canned food drive or $1 for KARM, you can wear a festive holiday hat! (antlers, elf hat, hat that represents your celebrated holiday, etc)
o   Therapy Dog Thursday
Therapy dogs will be in the commons that you can visit in the morning or during a free period on Monday.   As a way of giving thanks for their calm service, you can support Young Williams Animal Center by bringing in donations such as dog or cat food and toys, newspaper, peanut butter, etc.  Sign-ups to spend time with the dogs will go out as soon as we have their hours to be on campus.
o   Fleece and Flannel Friday (polar express day)
Come as you are on the polar express! Dress in your coziest winter clothes (fleece/flannel pants, slippers, etc) and enjoy some candy canes in the commons during lunch as you watch the polar express screened on the visualization wall.

Quote of the day from Woodrow Wilson:

You are not here merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand.
