School Mission – Boundless STEM: Learning & Leading
L&N Student Mission – #Own it!

School Ops:
·           See below for an important message about Governor’s Schools.  Don’t miss this opportunity for early college credit over the summer!

·           Haunted Station Gratitude!  PTSA would like to extend a HUGE thank you to all of the clubs and groups that participated to help make our Haunted Station Fundraiser a fun time for all! As promised, PTSA performed a blind drawing of the participating groups and is delighted to announce the following winners, these funds will be deposited in your club accounts:
o   3rd Place ($75) to Choir
o   2nd Place ($100) to Women in STEM
o   1st Place ($200) to projectU

·           The Coffee Nook is back!. Coffee, cappuccinos, teas, cocoa ($1.00-$1.50)
Look for us at the counter in the Commons in the mornings and the first half hour of each block.. We only take cash or change so consider purchasing a 10-cup coffee card for $10 so you don't have to remember to have money with you!

·           Upcoming Book Drive in January.  As you prepare for the holidays and think about leading a more organized less cluttered life in 2019, consider setting aside any books you no longer want to donate to the Coffee Nook/Key Club Book Drive in January. We'll happily accept any books you don't need and find homes for them within our own local community support facilities (for all ages). Anything not appropriate for those audiences will be turned in for store credit at McKay's.

·           Holiday Teacher Appreciation To celebrate and thank our teachers this semester (and to keep them caffeinated and happy), our PTSA is collecting K-cups for the the faculty and staff of the L&N STEM Academy. Please consider dropping off a box of coffee k-cups in the office between now and Winter Break.

·           Congratulations to the following students for being selected to perform in the 2018 Knox County Schools Honors Band:  Connor Johnson (Flute, Concert Band), Anastasia Slisher (Principal Oboe, Symphonic Band), Witt Norris (Clarinet, Concert Band), Faith Warehime (Clarinet, Concert Band), Allaura Wile (Bass Clarinet, Symphonic Band), Clara Winn (Alto Saxophone, Concert Band), Chrysi McDonald (Trombone, Concert Band), Raymond Wysmierski (Percussion, Symphonic Band), Miles Carter (Percussion, Symphonic Band)!
