Please make sure you stick around Monday to pick your yearbook up and participate in signings, even if you didn’t order one your friends will want you to sign theirs!

·      TODAY during lunch in the parking lot, UT’s Center for Transportation Research will provide all STEM students an opportunity to put on the "drunk" glasses to understand the lack of control one has if they drink and drive, and students will also get to ride a "slide" to simulate a car accident.  In order to experience the slide, students under the age of 18 must have parental signature on the waiver form.(see attached or below to download form).  See Coach Parker with questions.

·      Tonight come with your parents and let your voice be heard about what you want in your next principal.  You know Mrs. Ashe is retiring.  Central Office leaders will be in our Commons tonight at 6:00 for an hour to hear the characteristics and traits you want in your next leader.  Be heard!

·      Congratulations to Grace Brison, KIL Girls Discus Champion!  Grace will compete with the rest of our track and field athletes at the sectional meet this Wednesday to try to qualify for state!  Good luck Gryphons!

·      LIBRARY BOOKS DUE MAY 10.  ALL library books are due May 10 for inventory purposes. All fees are expected to be paid by this date as well. Students should have received an email if they have an overdue book or you owe a fine, but if you're wondering, please drop by the library to speak to Ms. Ellis.

·      There will be a cross country interest meeting on May 15th at 8:30 a.m. and 4:40 p.m. in room 214 in the Station. Please pick a time that works best for you! Contact Coach Daugherty for any questions or concerns.

·      Do you like baseball?  Will you be near Atlanta this summer?  The Atlanta Braves are sponsoring a program to recognize student achievers with a free ticket to a 2019 Atlanta Braves regular season home game.  To qualify, you must meet one of the following criteria:  1) Have Straight A’s, 2)Have no grade below a B; or 3) have perfect attendance.   If you meet one of those criteria, you can register online to claim your ticket at www.braves.com/achiever.  There is a form you need – they are available in the front office.  Go Braves!

·      Come join us for an interest meeting on May 7th at 4:45 in the commons/ library.  Gryphon Crew is a coed rowing club under the heading name of REACH.  It is a chance to build relationships, cardiovascular health, and enjoy a competitive sport on the water.  Coaches Susannah Enkema and James Martinez will teach you the fundamentals of rowing.  They will talk about future plans and the fun and competitive sport of rowing.  They may be investigating the option of using another highly motivated and qualified coach for next season. Those attending will have the opportunity to meet members of this year’s Gryphon Crew. They have grown us as a wonderful novice team this year!
