Superlative Winners! Superlatives were voted on based on which member of the
senior class best embodies each L&N Habit. The Gryphon Award of Merit is
awarded to the one person who best embodies all the L&N Habits as well as
the mission and vision of the school. Be sure to congratulate each of them on

The tennis team traveled to Greenville to take
on Chucky Doak and West Greene yesterday and had a great outing.
Team Results: Lady
Gryphons 5 Chucky Doak 4
Lady Gryphons 6 West Greene 3
That puts the girls record at 2-0 overall and 2-0 in
District play. They did amazing!

Gryphons
3 West Greene 6. The boys are 0-2 so far.
Individually Kendall Dunlap and Yessie Caldron were undefeated
yesterday in singles play both going 2-0
Individually Noah Armas was undefeated on the day going 2-0 in
singles play
In doubles Kendall Dunlap and Molly Armstrong went undefeated
winning 2 matches, Shannon O'Conner and
Abby Morgan went undefeated winning 2 matches, Hayden Marshell and Noah Armas
went undefeated winning 2 matches

Science & Engineering Festival in Washington DC, this Thursday, March 13, 9:05 a.m., in room 104.

Calling all writers: We are pleased to
announce that registration is now open for the 21st Annual Brian M. Conley
Young Writers’ Institute. The YWI is planned for Saturday, March 29th,
2013, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the UT-Knoxville campus. The YWI is
a free, one-day event that offers creative writing workshops for both high
school students and their teachers. We hope you will help us make this
year's YWI successful by encouraging your students and fellow teachers to
attend. The full list of classes offered, on a first registered, first served
basis, is: Poetry; Fiction; Screenwriting; Songwriting;Performance
Poetry; Journalism; and Blogging. If you are
interested, email Ms. Norton at Tressie.Norton@knoxschools.org
with your top 3 choices. The last day to register is this Friday, March
7th.

Big Orange STEM Symposium: High
school students are invited to the University of
Tennessee's Big Orange STEM Symposium on Saturday, March 29
from 10:00am-3:00pm at Hodges Library. This program will introduce local
high school students to careers and research exploration
in STEM disciplines through active engagement, networking, and
hands-on presentations from experts in the field and community.
Registration is free at http://s.lib.utk.edu/19s and
includes a FREE LUNCH. Please also email Ms. Ellis if you're attending.

Chess club meets Wednesday mornings from 8:30 –
9:15 in room 202.

Equality club meets Tuesday mornings 8:50 – 9:15
in room 104.

Yarn Arts group meets Wednesdays from 4:30 –
5:30 in the Commons Area. All students and faculty are invited to attend
– if you don’t know how to knit or crochet, come and learn! Bring a
project or just some yarn and a crochet hook!

AP Registration forms are now available on the
school counseling webpage under the guidance form section. These will
need to be printed, signed, and returned to the guidance department prior to
the deadline of March 14th.
