· The Knox County
Nutrition Dept. & your L&N STEM Academy cafeteria staff would like to
thank everyone who donated during the Medic blood drive. The
students whose names were drawn to win the ITunes gift cards are Kathryn Ellis, Thomas King & Chloe Shiverdecker.
Congratulations to these students! You may pick up your gift cards from the
cafeteria.
Thank you again,
L&N students & staff, for giving the gift of life!
· Be advised – due
to space limitations, you may eat outside of the Commons or Verandah; however,
you must eat within sight of school personnel.
That means you may not eat on the walkway around the side of the
building that faces the student parking lot, or the workers’ table outside of
the War Room, or the backside of the Depot building. Rule of thumb
- if a teacher cannot see you, you should not stay there or take food
there. Thank you for your compliance
with this policy.
· L&N students

American Legion Post #2 would
like to request your assistance with the 9th Annual Mountain Man Memorial March
on 23 April, 2016 in Gatlinburg, TN. The Mountain Man Memorial March
began as a way to honor 1LT Frank B. Walkup, IV, a 2005 University of Tennessee
graduate and ROTC alumnus, who was killed in action in Iraq in 2007 when an
improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle. Upon learning of the
death of 1LT Walkup a group of UT Cadets were looking for a way to honor 1LT
Walkup and his family and the Mountain Man Memorial March was born.
The inaugural MMMM was held in Gatlinburg, TN in April of 2008 with 40
Cadets from East Tennessee ROTC programs. The inaugural MMMM consisted of a
26.2 mile march with each Cadet carrying a 35 pound ruck sack. The UT Ranger
team carried a picture of 1LT Walkup and presented it along with a Gold Star
flag to his mother at the completion of the event. The 2015 MMMM honored over
75 service members from all branches of the US Military and their
families. Marchers and runners total over 975 from all over the United
States. We need volunteers to help man
water points and monitor participants along the route, serve as safety
monitors, assist participants when needed and provide goods, (bottled water,
paper products, medical supplies etc.) If
you would like to volunteer to assist or to donate please feel free to email Lee
Dalton at Legionpost2@gmail.com .

humanities will show students how scientists are collaborating with artists and
others in humanities disciplines to create innovative, relevant and exciting
projects.
· Staff from UT’s Center for Career
