·
Yearbooks for the 2017-18 school
year are officially on sale! Pick up an order form from the office any time or
order yours from www.jostensyearbooks.com.
The price per book is $55 now through September 15th. The longer you wait to
order yours, the higher the price goes up, so make sure to order yours as soon
as possible to save up to $25 this school year!
·
You’ve got your glasses, now the
Yearbook staff wants your photos of your eclipse experience for this year’s
edition. Take precautions, don’t try to
take pictures of the sun without a special filter, but you could take pictures
of your camera obscura shadows (you’ll make them in Advisory today) or other
images at the moment of totality. We’ll
be sharing a link where you can upload next week. Plan now!
·
Students, did you know we have a social worker here on Tuesday and
Thursdays from 8:30 – 2:30? She can help
you with community resources, shoe and clothing cards, hygiene items, and is
just nice to talk to! Don’t try to handle
family problems on your own – reach out for the help that is here. You can contact her through the front office,
or email her directly at Kimberly.stooksbury@knoxschools.org

& Guidance Ops:

beginning today. Your lunch is assigned

Quote
of the day regarding the science that allows eclipse predictions from Dr. Neil
DeGrasse Tyson:
There is no science in this world like physics. Nothing comes close to
the precision with which physics enables you to understand the world around
you. It's the laws of physics that allow us to say exactly what time the sun is
going to rise. What time the eclipse is going to begin. What time the eclipse
is going to end.
