GRYPHON MISSION BRIEFING
For Wednesday, November 15, 2017 – N-day
School Mission – Boundless STEM: Learning & Leading
L&N Student Mission – #Own it!

School Ops:
·      Congratulations to senior Taylor Flores, who on Friday will be attending a luncheon to receive the Optimist Club Service to Humanity Award.  Well done, Taylor!

·      Shout out to our Scholars Bowl team – they made it to the Round of 16 (quarterfinals) in the regional tournament yesterday!  If you see them, congratulate these students: Nicholas Lester, Zachary Medley, Emmanuel Sosa-Cruz,  and Alexander Yarkhan

·      9th – 11th graders:  we have started a new tradition by hosting our seniors for breakfast on Wed, 11/15.  The Commons will be off limits to you from 8:30 – 9:15 in the morning.  You will enter the cafeteria for breakfast directly from the verandah, and room 104 or Media Center from the outside doors.  Thank you for your cooperation – it will be your turn one day!

·      Friendly reminder, this week is your final week to make boxes for Operation Christmas Child. If you have not started on your box, it is not too late! If you do not feel that you can pack a whole box, please consider bringing individual items or making a donation to cover the shipping costs for other boxes. Additionally, this is a fun project to complete with a group of friends. Don’t forget this is an advisory competition, with a donut party for the winning advisory in each grade. We also want to reiterate that this competition is for all grades and all faculty members. We will be collecting boxes on the plaza during advisory on Friday, November 17 (this Friday). Finish packing up your boxes with your advisory, then head on down to the plaza. Come drop off your box, grab a candy cane, and celebrate another year of our school serving globally!  A side note that some of you may be interested in is the option of being able to track your box. Go to the link below to find the place to pay online and get a special tag that allows you to see which country your box travels to. https://www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/follow-your-box/
