School Ops:
·      Big congrats to our Running Gryphons!  Both boys and girls teams had a great showing at State Championships over the weekend – Seth Jinks won the Small School Division race for the boys, and as a team they were the state Runner-Up (2nd place!), also earning Coach Christina Daugherty the TSSAA Coaches’ Plaque.  On the girls side Brooke Foster placed 5th and Deja Adams placed 15th.  Way to go Gryphons!

·      Also shout out to our robotics team, the L&N STEMpunks finished 2nd at the Battle for the Bluegrass robotics matchup in Kentucky.  What a great pre-season warm up – get used to winning team!!

·      All students who wish to enter our L&N National History Day competition are invited to do so.  It is not necessary to do this as part of a class project.  You may compete just for the love of history and the love of competition!  As always, follow exact directions on NHD website, and bring Process Paper, Annotated Bibliography, and your project to the competition in the Commons--9:30, Monday, Nov 20.  Please email Mrs. Robbins or Ms. Stanish if you plan to compete (other than as part of a class) so we can plan exhibit space for you.  Remember, you may compete as an individual or a group (maximum five people).  Questions?  Email Mrs. Robbins or Ms. Stanish.

·      Yearbooks are now $60 through November 17! Order yours now by visiting www.jostensyearbooks.com or by picking up an order form from the office. Prices will continue to go up the longer you wait to order, so purchase yours now to save up to $20 this school year!  Want to keep up with yearbook announcements and updates as they happen? ·      Congrats to Lucy Drinnen, Cinna Lockhart, and Reed Freeman, who’s video “Thank a Veteran” just won the ORNL Veteran’s Day Video contest.  This is the 4th year in a row that an L&N team has won this competition!  Here’s a link to their winning video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-v-8BivR6uA

·      And speaking of Veteran’s Day – you’ll be hearing more in Advisory class on Friday about our school field trip along Gay St next week, on Nov 10, to watch the Veteran’s Day Parade live!  This is a great tradition that is unique to our school – looking forward to all students participating!
