For Tuesday, August 18, 2015 – “L” classes

2015-16 L&N Student Mission – Own it!

School Ops:

·      Remember today we are back to your “L” classes.  You’ll eat lunch with your Advisory teacher.  All Open Block sophomores and juniors must be back on campus for the start of Advisory at 12:19.

·      If you are interested in learning more about, or joining TSA (the Technology Student Association) there will be an informational NEXT Thursday, August 27th in the Mezzanine that will last about 30 minutes starting after school is over. TSA members compete in local, state, and national competitions with events based in STEM and Fine Art concepts. This past summer, the L&N STEM Academy's TSA Chapter received national recognition at the National Conference in Dallas, TX and was ranked the number one high school in the state of Tennessee. With this being said, we ask that you consider joining this club and I hope to see you all the 27th! (Please feel free to contact s727072@student.knoxschools.org if you have any questions).

·      After lunch Friday we found food trays and trash on the plaza.  This is unacceptable!  Police yourselves and each other and help us keep campus clean or we’ll have to shorten lunches to fit in 4 instead of 3 so each one can fit in the Commons only!

·      Interested in helping plan and put on events for the school? Join us at a Student Government Association (SGA) interest meeting on Wednesday at lunch. When it's your assigned lunch, get your lunch and find a seat on the veranda. You'll learn what SGA is all about, and we'll have applications should you be interested in joining.

·      Plan now to come to the first Open House of the year, Tuesday, Aug 18, from 6:00 – 8:00.  The PTSA will be serving dinner (hot dogs, hamburgers, and fixins’) for a donation starting at 5:30. 

·      If you have not yet set up a Knox County Schools email account, please come to the library from 9:00 – 9:20 in the mornings.  You’ll be assisted so you can receive emails and access Canvas courses.

Community  & Guidance Ops:

·      Freshmen and Sophomores – guidance will be running parent informational meetings at 6:15 and 7:00 at the Open House.  Sessions are about 15 minutes each.  Invite your parents to stop in while on campus.
