10-21-16 Student Mission Briefing

For Friday, October 21, 2016 – “N” day
L&N Student Mission – #Own it!
School Ops:
·      Don’t forget – WFP Drive will be closed off at pick up time this afternoon.  Parents will not be able to drive down by the Holiday Inn.  Plan for an alternate pick up location!

·      Congratulations to our L&N STEM Academy Orchestra students for a fantastic performance at last night's Knox County Schools Honors Orchestra concert! The musicians include:
o   Connor McGinley - Violin I
o   Elliott Mills - Violin I
o   Kirsten Carter - Violin II
o   Samantha Foley - Violin II
o   Maeve Houston - Violin II
o   Danny Hristov - Violin II
o   Jenny Liu - Violin II
o   Ethan Marsh - Viola
o   Jack Baldwin - Cello 
o   Ben Boney - Cello
o   Mattie Mills - Principal Bass (2nd year in a row!)

·      Remember, all spirit week outfits must meet KCS dress code! No masks that cover your whole face.  As you dress up this week remember to get some pics of you and your friends and tag #lnspirit16 to instagram or Twitter!
o   Friday – Character Day – dress as your favorite character from books, movies, comics, etc.
o   Final day for class chalk walk squares, penny wars, and best dressed prize!

·      Don’t miss the Fall Dance on Saturday, October 22nd from 7pm-10pm, in the Commons. The theme is “A Twist Back in Time”. Dress fun (you best 50s attire) or fancy! Buy tickets at lunch – visitors from other schools as guests need a form you can pick up at the office.  Tickets are $8 for an individual and $14 for a couple.

·      UPDATE: Yearbooks are on sale! Make sure to stop by the office and pick up an order form, or go to to order yours today. Yearbooks are $60 for a limited time only, so make sure to order yours as soon as possible before the price goes up. Make sure to follow @STEMYB on Twitter to stay up-to-date on yearbook prices and updates throughout the year.

Community  & Guidance Ops:
