THE L&N PLAN for ACT IN-SCHOOL TESTING DAY, MARCH 21

For Juniors only:  All juniors need to be at school by 9:20 to report to your testing rooms on time with at least two #2 lead pencils and an appropriate calculator (check with your math teacher if you’re not sure) and a spare set of batteries for it.  If you wish to have a snack during the short break between tests, you need to bring that, too.  You will be testing from 9:30 – 1:30 with a short break.  Report to the rooms as listed at the bottom of this message.
For 9, 10, and 12th (not taking the test) grade students:  From 9:30 – 1:15 you will be engaged in the activity you signed up for, or which was chosen for you because you did not respond to the request for selection.  You can find your schedule for tomorrow by looking for your name in the Google sheet found at (be sure you are using your KCS email Google account):  https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TqSdbn72Z8aTW9yPLf_-o8ltGfK83fmYqoXkbPsLVB0/edit#gid=401877691.  Attendance will be taken in each activity and reported as an absence for the day if you are not in the activity beginning at 9:30.  If you are in one of the groups scheduled to walk to a site off campus you need to be prepared to walk even if it is raining – you will go rain or shine.

All those not taking the ACT will have lunch from 1:15 – 1:45.  The cafeteria staff is hosting a cookout for you with grilled hamburgers and hotdogs (and some veggie burgers/dogs for our vegetarians and gluten-sensitive students).  We will have chairs and tables set up on the plaza so you can eat out “picnic style” once you get your meat from the grill on the plaza.

For ALL students in the afternoon:  ACT test-takers will have lunch from 1:45 – 2:15 on the plaza just like the others.  At 2:15 everyone will move to your regularly scheduled Advisory space.  In Advisory, you will be joining a live Google Hangout presentation about selecting next year’s courses.  You will be able to ask questions and have them answered in real time.  You will receive the Course Catalog with descriptions of all courses and be expected to go home and talk about your plan towards graduation with your parents/guardians.  You will actually log on and request courses online during Friday’s Advisory time.  School will dismiss at 4:30 as usual.
