GRYPHON MISSION BRIEFING
For Wednesday, March 13, 2019 – N-day
School Mission – Boundless STEM: Learning & Leading
L&N Student Mission – #Own it!

School Ops:
·      Thank you for a smooth ACT test administration Tuesday; and for your cooperation with the device check.  Anyone who did not have your device checked needs to take it to Mr. Sharp in D212 as soon as you get on campus.  You will drop off your device and he will return it as soon as possible – which may not be for a while since he no longer has help.  The longer you wait to bring in your device the longer he will be instructed to hold it before it is returned.  Get it done!

·      SGA Dance-A-Thon will be held Thursday, March 14, 5:30 – 8:30 in the Commons.  SGA members will be selling tickets in the Commons daily through next Wednesday.  Tickets are $14 for a dance pair and $5 for a spectator.  Grab a friend and boogie or come watch the fun!

·      Last week to buy prom tickets!  The prom committee members will be selling tickets during both lunches everyday except Mondays. Tickets will be single tickets are $45 and couples tickets are $80. Additionally if students paid their senior dues the cost of a single ticket was included. Prom sales will END March 15, which is FRIDAY. There will be NO TICKETS sold at the door.

·      Students– start planning ahead – Worlds Fair Park Drive will be down to one lane today, so parents can’t wait along the front of Holiday Inn Exhibition Center and closed completely Thursday/Friday. You will not be able to enter from the south end of the park and it will be closed past our parking gate.  Blackstock Lot parkers need to park along the edges of the International lot.  Friday will be crowded in WFP – plan ahead.  Share rides or consider the school bus for the day.  Tardy due to traffic is not excused.

Community  & Guidance Ops:
·      Our PTSA has 2 scholarships available for graduating seniors - The scholarship contest info is all found here:  http://ptsalnstem.weebly.com/scholarships.html  Deadline for submissions is 5:00 pm, Sunday, April 7.

·      The Kiwanis Club of Northside Knoxville, Inc. and its associated Student Fund announce the availability of grants based on an individual’s service to the community. These grants are available to any Knox County resident who is or is planning on being enrolled in an accredited institute of higher learning in the coming year, and who has not previously received a scholarship or grant from any Kiwanis-affiliated organization. Submission as a recommendation from a third party is acceptable. Submissions must be made before March 31. Here is the form.

·      Outlier’s Advantage: ACT Prep Academy will be hosting a Free Mock ACT on Saturday, March 23 at 8:45 a.m. for all Knox County area students. Students will get their results before they leave and will get to keep their tests for their review.
