· Are you a Marvel fan? Are
you excited for Avengers: Endgame? If so, all Gryphons are invited to come out
to Movie Night!! In advance of the
highly anticipated release of Avengers: Endgame, the junior class will be
playing Avengers: Infinity War!
It will be April 11 from 6:00-8:45 in the Commons.
You do not need to pay to come. It is completely free!! We will have popcorn
and drinks available (which are also free!). We hope you can come and
watch with us!!

Update from the FIRST
Robotic Team Pit! L&N STEMpunks
competed at Bayou Regional Robotics competition in New Orleans over spring
break and won 4 awards. First and foremost the team won the Imagery Award in
honor of Jack Kamen. This award
celebrates attractiveness in engineering and outstanding visual aesthetic
integration of machine and team appearance.
They
won the Bayou Alligator award for the best robot cart that participated in the
opening ceremonies, the Top Banana award for best looking team shirts; and
finally Rachel Barrick won the Best Second Line Dancer award for the most
spirit and skills during the New Orleans Jazz Band and Second Line!
Additionally, they will be in action again this week at the Smoky Mountains Regional at Thompson Boling arena on Friday and Saturday. The team is asking students and staff to wear their STEM gear and come out and cheer them on after school and Sat. Competition is from 8-6 and attendance is free. Come out and support the L&N STEMpunks team#3966! Hope to see you there!

The L&N STEM Boys & Girls Tennis Teams defeated
Pigeon Forge on Tuesday 8-0. Freshmen Hunter
Shupe and Mia Carter both
achieved the first varsity win of their high school careers! Next match is scheduled for April 4th against Alcoa. Go

the 2019 Kentucky-Tennessee District Convention this past weekend in Franklin,
TN and brought home three trophies! 1st Place for Impromptu Essay Contest: Turner Rogers with his extremely
impressive writing skills; 1st Place Talent Contest: Madeline Maben with her fabulous piano performance; & 2nd Place
Single Service Project: L&N STEM Key Club's 'Warm Thoughts' Scarf Community

This week REDUCE your junk at home by donating old wash rags and no-longer-used
cellphones! REUSING rags to bathe kittens at Young Williams animal shelter
and RECYCLING cell phone parts to spare animal habitats in Africa is a great
way to kick off spring cleaning! Look for donation boxes at front desk, or
bring your donations to Mrs. Elliott.

The Kiwanis Club of Northside Knoxville, Inc. and its associated
Student Fund announce the availability of grants based on an individual’s
service to the community. These grants are available to any Knox County
resident who is or is planning on being enrolled in an accredited institute of
higher learning in the coming year, and who has not previously received a
scholarship or grant from any Kiwanis-affiliated organization. Submission as a
recommendation from a third party is acceptable. Submissions must be made
before March 31. Here is the form.
