School Ops:

·         Today’s schedule for TNReady testing  will involve everyone taking Math I, II or Algebra II.  See rooms assignments below.  You will go to these rooms during L1 and L3.  If you’re not testing you go to the Commons.  You will only meet your L2 and L4 classes tomorrow.  Schedule:

o   9:30 – 11:30 – 1^st testing block

o   11:35 – 12:19 – L2 block

o   12:19 – 1:41 – Genius Hour/Lunch

o   1:41 – 3:15 – 2^nd testing block

o   3:20 – 4:30 – L4 block

·      Plan on bringing family and friends to the PTSA concert and fundraiser Friday night!  Freddy’s Steakburgers will be here selling dinner and we’ll have a concert by Covalence and special musical guest appearances by Mr. Colby, Mr. Crattie, and Ms. Daugherty!  Cost is $5 per person and all proceeds go towards buying us new SmartBoards for next year!

·      Gryphons! AP testing is quickly approaching, and finals are just around the corner. In order to help prepare for testing, NHS is holding tutoring sessions every morning starting Tuesday, April 23^rdthrough Tuesday, April 30^th at 8:15am in the STEM Space. Tutors will be available, so make sure you stop by as preparation for the final push to the end. Good luck over the next few weeks!

Community  & Guidance Ops:

·      If you are planning to take a dual enrollment course next year and need help to get through the application process, or apply for the dual enrollment grant, or register for a course, we will have a help session on Monday, April 29 during 1^st and 2^nd lunch in M056 (come during your scheduled Genius Hour).  Spencer Joy, the dual enrollment specialist from Pellissippi will be here to answer any questions you might have.  In order to apply for the dual enrollment grant, you must know your social security number.  Remember, to take a general education course like English or Science, you must have a 3.0 GPA and an 18 in English and a 19 in Reading on the ACT exam.  For DE electives like Acting, Bowling, etc., you need at least a 2.0 GPA and at least a 13 composite on the ACT. If you will be a junior, we can also consider your PSAT scores. The absolute deadline to turn in your L&N dual enrollment application packet is May 10th.....try to turn it in earlier so Mrs. Johnson can send the required documents to the college, allowing you to register for courses more quickly.  Dual enrollment packets are available in the Guidance Office or on our school counseling webpage under "forms":  https://www.knoxschools.org/Page/5420.  We will have a 2nd help session on Monday, May 6th. 

·         Seniors:  continue watching the Scholarship Bulletin on the School Counseling website.  There still are scholarships to apply for, though some with close deadlines.
