Community  & Guidance Ops:
·      If you are planning to take a dual enrollment course next year and need help to get through the application process, or apply for the dual enrollment grant, or register for a course, we will have a help session on Monday, April 29 during 1st and 2nd lunch in M056 (come during your scheduled Genius Hour).  Spencer Joy, the dual enrollment specialist from Pellissippi will be here to answer any questions you might have.  In order to apply for the dual enrollment grant, you must know your social security number.  Remember, to take a general education course like English or Science, you must have a 3.0 GPA and an 18 in English and a 19 in Reading on the ACT exam.  For DE electives like Acting, Bowling, etc., you need at least a 2.0 GPA and at least a 13 composite on the ACT. If you will be a junior, we can also consider your PSAT scores. The absolute deadline to turn in your L&N dual enrollment application packet is May 10th.....try to turn it in earlier so Mrs. Johnson can send the required documents to the college, allowing you to register for courses more quickly.  Dual enrollment packets are available in the Guidance Office or on our school counseling webpage under "forms":  https://www.knoxschools.org/Page/5420.  We will have a 2nd help session on Monday, May 6th.

·         Seniors:  continue watching the Scholarship Bulletin on the School Counseling website.  There still are scholarships to apply for, though some with close deadlines.
