·      HUGE shout out to the L&N STEMpunks!  Our FIRST Robotics team competed in the Smoky Mtn Regional competition this weekend and made it to the finals in an alliance with teams from Kingsport, TN (Dobyns-Bennett High School) and Burlington, Ontario, Canada (Burlington Central High).  They won the tournament’s Imagery Award AND got a wildcard berth to the World Championships in Houston, TX later this month!  Congrats STEMpunks!!

·      New overseas trip being planned for fall break 2020 to Italy and Greece!  Come find out more on April 10 at 6:00 in the Commons with Mr. Blythe and the Global Gryphons! Spots ae limited so don’t miss out!

·      Are you a Marvel fan? Are you excited for Avengers: Endgame? If so, all Gryphons are invited to come out to Movie Night!!  In advance of the highly anticipated release of Avengers: Endgame, the junior class will be playing Avengers: Infinity War! It will be April 11 from 6:00-8:45 in the Commons. You do not need to pay to come. It is completely free!! We will have popcorn and drinks available (which are also free!). We hope you can come and watch with us!!

·      The L&N STEM Boys & Girls Tennis Teams defeated Pigeon Forge on Tuesday 8-0. Freshmen Hunter Shupe and Mia Carter both achieved the first varsity win of their high school careers! Next match is scheduled for April 4th against Alcoa. Go Gryphons! 

·      Interested in discount coupons for tuxedo rentals?  Stop by the office to pick one up for Regal Tuxedo, located in Windsor Square and Knoxville Center.  Thank you, Mrs. Brown!

·      This week REDUCE your junk at home by donating old wash rags and no-longer-used cellphones! REUSING rags to bathe kittens at Young Williams animal shelter and RECYCLING cell phone parts to spare animal habitats in Africa is a great way to kick off spring cleaning! Look for donation boxes at front desk, or bring your donations to Mrs. Elliott.

o   Logan O’Neal, Class of 2020 - Governor’s School for Computational Physics at Austin Peay
o   Raymond Wysmierski, Class of 2020 – accepted to 2 different programs, Governor’s School for the Arts and Governor’s School of Integration of Biological and Statistical Sciences at ETSU.  He chose the ETSU program.
o   Emma Patterson, Class of 2020 – Young Scholar Program at UTK out of the CURENT project with NSF and Dept of Energy
o   Reece Brown, Class of 2021 – Governor’s School of the Humanities at UT Martin
o   Campbell Maben, Class of 2021 – Governor’s School for the Arts at MTSU
o   Keiran Maben, Class of 2021 – Governor’s School for the Arts at MTSU
o   Madeline Maben, Class of 2021 – Governor’s School for the Arts at MTSU
o   Abigail Phillips, Class of 2021 – Governor’s School TN Heritage program at UT Martin

·      Seniors:  continue watching the Scholarship Bulletin on the School Counseling website.  There still are scholarships to apply for, though some with close deadlines.

·      SENIORS:  This is the last week to apply!Our PTSA has 2 scholarships available for graduating seniors - The scholarship contest info is all found here:  http://ptsalnstem.weebly.com/scholarships.html  Deadline for submissions is 5:00 pm, Sunday, April 7.
