Frisbee team for winning the Knox Youth Ultimate City Tournament this
weekend! Way to represent!!

Seniors: We will be having one
last Social on Tuesday, May 16. It will be held at a "Party Barn"
where there will be lit up basketball courts and fields for football, soccer,
ultimate, etc. Food and drinks will be provided. All students, please note that
this is not a school sponsored event, but rather just a senior social. The address is 655 N. East End Rd. Strawberry

Film Festival Call for Entries: Entries are now open for the
first annual L&N STEM Academy Film Festival! We are accepting entries for
all films made by STEM Academy students from ANY year that you were enrolled
here (graduates included). The film or films that you choose to submit can be
anything ranging from a journalism piece to a short film to a documentary and
more. If your film is outside the scope of the categories listed on the
submission form, please list it under the “other” category.
You may submit
any amount of films that you choose. Your submissions will then be juried by a
panel of judges made up of your peers and teachers. If selected to show at the
festival, your film will automatically be nominated for our selection of awards
that will be announced during the festival. The due date for entries is May
5th. The festival will be held on May 18th in the commons immediately following
the spring play on the plaza (7 PM). Submission

Big shout out to Jaylen Foster
, who was named MVP of field events at the Blue Ridge Classic track meet last
weekend in Asheville, NC! There were
over 100 teams competing from around our region. We also had several school and individual
records set at this meet!!
·
Attention Seniors and Senior Parents! The PTSA is
sponsoring an interfaith baccalaureate service for graduating seniors and
their families. This year's service will be held on Sunday, May 7,
at 3pm at Immaculate Conception Church located at 414 West Vine
Street. The service is free of charge and promises to provide an
uplifting ceremony for all religious backgrounds as we celebrate our
graduates. Students are asked to wear their graduation cap and
gown. Honors collars and club sashes typically worn with the gowns during
graduation will not be worn during this service.

The L&N Stem Academy staff and faculty will be honoring the 2017
graduates and their families at their annual senior reception. This
year's reception will be held at the school on Sunday, May 7 at
4pm. All seniors and their families are encouraged to attend.

Show your school spirit by for voting for our school in the School
Spirit Contest. The school with the most votes wins $2500. Tell your

for winning a Dean’s Scholarship and financial package that equal a full ride
at the College of Wooster! She also made
the college’s softball team! Way to go

As structures are being removed
in Elkmont (in the Smokies), we need volunteers to help plant approximately 500
trees on May 13th from 11-3. The event is geared mainly towards students
and will count towards service hours if needed for Tennessee Promise. More information attached.

Congratulations to LEXI Jones (note name correction from Friday),
who was accepted into UTK’s BETS (Business Education for Talented Students)
summer residential program for 2017!
