Monday,
September 16 at 6:00 pm at Bearden High School! Mark your calendars
now as this is definitely a night not to be missed!! Maria Furtado,
Executive Director of the non-profit organization, Colleges That
Changes Lives (CTCL), will challenge your approach to compiling a
college list. Hear the latest research on specific campus characteristics and
learning components that lead to a successful college experience. But be
forewarned: your view of popular college rankings will be challenged as these
reports are just one measure of quality among many. Above all, Ms. Furtado will
encourage you to make the college search process a well-informed journey that
leads to the best possible outcome: finding the best college fit.
On Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 6:00 pm at Oak Ridge High School, The University of Chicago will host a College Information Session for interested juniors, seniors and their families. The program will consist of a 20-30 minute presentation about U Chicago, another 20 minutes covering the application process and what highly selective schools are looking for, and then some time for questions. A diversity of materials will be available for families as well. If your child has an interest in U Chicago (or a highly selective college in general), this session is well worth your time!
Quote of the day: from Dr. Seuss:
The more that you read, the more
things you will know. The more that you
learn, the more places you’ll go.
