School Ops:
·      Today is State EOC for Biology and Chemistry.  Find your Biology or Chem I class in the table below to see where to report at 9:30.  Bring a pencil.  Do not be late!

·      It’s time to vote for PTSA Teacher, Student Support, and Team Support people of the year!  Please go to http://goo.gl/forms/061AcaYJAn and place your votes.  Each student gets one vote in each category.  You need to vote by Wednesday, May 4.

·      Congrats to our Ultimate Frisbee team – who went to Victor Ashe Park and played through weather and delays to come away with the District Championship!  (back-to-back Champs – they won the fall league, too)  Now they head to the state tournament in Murfreesboro next weekend.  Good luck!

·      A HUGE congratulations to the L&N STEMpunks FIRST Robotics team for winning the internationally judged, 2016 Media and Technology Innovation Award by Comcast NBC Universal at World Championships in St. Louis this weekend!! Their entry was selected out of over 180 other submissions from 7 different countries, and they were awarded in front of over 40,000 spectators at Championships. The award celebrates a robust digital media experience for audiences in many different mediums (website, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and more) through an outstanding marketing strategy and online presence. You can check out their 2016 submission of the award right here! If you're interested in joining the team next year and working on these kinds of project and more, email Julia for more info at julia@lnstempunks.org

·      You’ve read the announcements, looked over the itinerary, and considered visiting New York City during Fall Break 2016—now is the time to commit to this trip! We have custom-designed this tour just for L&N students and parents. This all-inclusive tour comes at a very affordable price, totaling $1,052.00. The only money you will need on the trip will be for souvenirs and food on the bus. GOOD NEWS: You can reserve your spot on this trip for only $150.00!   Registration and the $150 deposit is due by May 18.

·      SENIORS are reminded to complete the Senior Exit Survey by next Friday, May 6.  This was sent to you by Mrs. Basner in email yesterday, here’s the link again: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1t0L6j5nC9QsVxlhlLpScyLNVZBLEDH_H23Lxm9Uvn10/viewform

·      Y-12 Federal Credit Union is now accepting applications for student volunteers to work at the Golden Gryphon Credit Union (located in the Commons) on Wednesdays and Fridays during Genius Hour for the 2016-2017 school year.  This is a great opportunity for students looking to earn work experience or volunteer hours, and student volunteers over the age of 16 are eligible to apply for a paid internship at a Y-12 branch. Come by and talk to current students involved with the credit union during lunch to learn more about it! Pick up an application from the folder on the door of Room 215.
