9-10-18 Student Mission Briefing

GRYPHON MISSION BRIEFING
For Monday, September 10, 2018 – M-day
EARLY RELEASE SCHEDULE
School Mission – Boundless STEM: Learning & Leading
L&N Student Mission – #Own it!

School Ops:
·      Any sophomore or Junior who has not yet had their computer reimaged should bring it by room 213 in the Station first thing Monday morning.  It will be returned to you ASAP.  This is not an option.  Seniors have received a separate email with instructions for their reimaging.

·      Today you will follow your standard 3-lunch schedule for M-days that you have had since the first week of school.  You go to lunch with your M3 block teacher.  You should have received a detailed email already from Mrs. Ashe about the rest of the week.

·      Now announcing the opening of the L&N STEM Book Nook! The Book Store and the Coffee Nook have merged to bring you coffee and school apparel from the same place.  Located in the small hallway connecting the commons to the office.  Opening Tuesday September 11th!!  We hope you stop by!  The Nook is also still seeking help for N2 block – must have a Digital Lab that class.  Email S757970@student.knoxschools.org if interested.

·      Did you miss the interest meeting about rowing yesterday?  It’s not too late - let us know you’re interested by filling out the interest form at https://goo.gl/forms/BlEDnxgsT4aJ1Jke2. If you have any questions please email s856711@student.knoxschools.org

·      Students – a reminder:  a few of you seem to have forgotten that Extended Campus forms only apply if you are with a teacher.  Our campus boundary is the edge of the sidewalk rimming the plaza.  It does not extend to the playground by the Memorial.  Once you are on campus you cannot leave or leave and come back without being with a teacher.  Violation is subject to consequences.  Please protect the legacy of freedoms that have been passed on to you by doing what you’re supposed to be doing where you’re supposed to be doing it!

·      Spirit Week T-shirts are on Sale during LUNCH!  See a representative from the Prom Committee during any lunch to purchase.  Shirts are $15 for S-XL and $2 extra for XXL and over. Orders will be taken this week! Don't delay! See below for shirt designs and colors.  Spirit week is October 22 – 26, shirts will be back in time to wear for the pep rally!

·      Tennessee Valley Fair Art Winners:  Congratulations to Margaret Kelley who won 2nd Place for her digital artwork in the Congressional Medal of Honor Art Competition, and to Aidyn Parkey for winning second place and Kayla Juhl who won third place by grade level in the Student Art Competition. Thanks also to Savannah Bresler, Rawan Ferwannah, Kendal Goodman, Mary Kayla Harb, and Hila Williford for representing the L&N with their excellent work. Be sure to see the show in the top floor of the Jacobs Building when you visit the Fair. Also check out the Photography exhibit on the first floor, as our students display their work there as well.
