Roane State Community College and the American Medical
Response (AMR) team are collecting donations to take to the Carolinasfrom the
devastation of Hurricane Florence. We will be collecting non-perishable items
of foods, diapers, baby wipes, bottled water, pet food, and emergency supplies
Thursday, 9/20. Donations can be dropped off to the front office or to
the Guidance office. Items will be loaded up and head to the coast Friday
morning.. Please share this information with your clubs or organizations,
family and friends. Thank you for all you do!

Jostens will be at L & N STEM academy next Monday
September 24th during lunch in the Cafeteria.
Orders for Jewelry for any Sophomore, Junior or Seniors will be taken during
lunch. Also, Seniors we be turning in their order for Senior Supplies and
Cap/Gown. Extra packets of information, including order forms are
available in the office, or you can order online any time before order day at
Jostens.com.

Are you
a junior or senior who has a passion for education? Need something to do on
Mondays? Join The STEM Connection! Volunteers will work as teacher's aides
at Ritta Elementary School to gain valuable work experience and service
hours. There will be an interest meeting TODAY, September
20th in the Stem Space
(rm D210) from 4:30-5:30. For more information, please

Congratulations to the
following officers elected to represent the Class of 2022 on our SGA
Board. All candidates did a great job
with creative campaigns and we’re thrilled with the level of participation by
the freshmen class in voting! Being
involved is a great way to get the most out of your high school experience (and

Dive In! Gryphon Swim & Dive Team starts practice this week - Come give it a
try! We have a 2 week trial period- no cuts for swim team. Practices are Monday, Tuesday &
Thursday 6:45 am - 8:00 am at the Student Aquatic Center at UT (must
have physical and paperwork to participate). Questions or more

the following students for being accepted into the Knoxville Youth Symphony
Orchestra: Connor McGinley (Violin, KSYO), Campbell
Maben (Violin, KSYO), Maddie Maben (Cello, KSYO) Kailey Bostick
(Cello, Sinfonia), and Kieran Maben (Double Bass, KSYO)!
Congratulations also to Anastasia Slisher (Oboe) and Marcus
Lee (Bassoon) for their great auditions!

8:15 to meet with students in the National Honors Society who can help you out!

Students – want to get experience on
a political campaign from the inside?!
Opportunities open for interns (unpaid) to work on a US Congressional
campaign from now till election day, Nov 6.

Applications
are now being accepted from junior or senior high school students to be a
participant in the United States Senate Youth Program. Two
Tennessee delegates will participate
in an annual Washington Week in March which includes a variety of events that
promote a unique understanding of the structure of our national government. The
Hearst Foundation also offers selected state finalists a $10,000 undergraduate
scholarship. The student application and instructions for applying are
available here. Applications must be submitted no later than Oct. 29.
