8-9-18 Student Mission Briefing

GRYPHON MISSION BRIEFING
For Thursday, August 9, 2018 – L-day
School Mission – Boundless STEM: Learning & Leading
L&N Student Mission – #Own it!

School Ops:
·       You will follow your L-day schedule today.  After 2nd period, go to your Advisory where you started yesterday (see the schedule below) – if you forgot, check the posters around school to see what lunch you will eat.  You are divided by Advisory teacher.

·       Cafeteria is open!  Stop in and enjoy hot and cold breakfast items and full lunch menu – and snap a selfie in the photo booth they created!  Please tag @LNSTEMAC and use #SmartFood if you post!

·       Please be mindful of KCS dress code as you choose your outfits.  Shirts must have straps at least 3 fingers wide, shorts/skirts should hit mid-thigh or longer.  No back cutouts or bare midriffs.  Thank you for your cooperation.

·       Make plans to attend the first PTSA Open House of the year this Thursday, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.  PTSA will be cooking burgers and dogs so you can come eat from 5:30 – 6:30.  Parents can meet all your teachers, and find out more about how to be involved with your school.  Always a fun night – come join us!  If you’re new to the school you can pick up your technology.  You must bring a cover for a MacAir 11.5” and a financially responsible adult to take home your device.  Because there is another event happening on the World’s Fair Park, you are invited to park at the Blackstock Lot on Grand Avenue.  We will run a KAT trolley just for our event between the lot and the school all night long!

Community  & Guidance Ops:
·       Please continue to follow your schedule as printed today.   If you have questions for your counselor, please email according to your last name (lori.morrell@knoxschools.org for last names A – J, paul.sudderth@knoxschools.org for last names K – Z [shout outs to the sharp eyes who caught my mistake in yesterday’s briefings!]).  You will be sent for when they are ready to work with you on your issue.

Quote of the day from Mary Engelbreit:

If you don’t like something change it; if you can’t change it, change the way you think about it.
